Park City is one of the most accessible mountain destinations in North America, located just 35 minutes from Salt Lake City Airport. The area has two major resorts on its doorstep, Park City Mountain and Deer Valley. The town was best known as a prominent silver mining town until the early 70s when the city’s mining company built the first ski lifts in what would become the largest ski resort in the United States, Park City Mountain Resort.

With thousands of acres to explore, Park City Mountain offers a huge range of skiing with everything from wide carving runs and beginner zones to tree skiing, alpine bowls, and short hikes to more advanced terrain. Across its 40 lifts and nearly 350 trails, skiers and riders of all abilities will find plenty to keep them busy. The resort averages 300 inches of light, fluffy snow each winter owing to its high elevation and naturally dry climate. Visitors also have the choice of staying at either the Canyons Village or Park City itself, two distinct base areas connected thanks to the Quicksilver Gondola and a free bus service. 

The town of Park CIty itself is a core part of why the resort is so popular having retained its character from its mining era. The historic Main Street, connected directly to the slopes, is lined with historic buildings, saloons, award-winning restaurants, galleries, shops and coffee spots. Visitors can find anything from loud and lively apres spots like High West Distillery and No Name Saloon, family friendly patios such as Legends Bar & Grill as well as high-end dining such as Handle. Park City has a real, live-in feel as opposed to a resort village built from scratch.

Not just a winter destination, Park City is a true year round place with a mountain bike park, hiking trails, golf, fishing and outdoor events. The Wasatch Mountains surrounding the town give you endless trail options and views that don’t require mountaineer fitness levels. The Sundance Film Festival takes place every January bringing a great opportunity to spot a celebrity or two.
