About travelling from Park City, UT to Salt Lake City, UT
Park City is one of the most traveller-friendly ski towns in North America, sitting only 35 minutes from Salt Lake City Airport. Home to both Park City Mountain and nearby Deer Valley Ski Resort, the region blends mining-town heritage with world-class skiing. What began as a booming silver-mining settlement transitioned into a ski destination in the early 1970s when the local mining company installed the first lifts laying the foundations for what would become the largest ski resort in the United States.
Park City Mountain’s sheer scale ensures there is something for everyone: long cruisers, wide learning areas, tree runs, natural bowls, and some excellent hike-to terrain for experts. Across its massive lift network and 349 marked trails, beginners, intermediates, and advanced riders all have plenty to keep them occupied. With roughly 300 inches of light, dry snow each season, conditions stay consistently good.
The town’s mining-era character remains intact, especially along Main Street, where boutique shops, galleries, saloons, cafés, and dining spots line the historic buildings. Après choices include buzzing venues like O’Shucks Bar & Grill and Boneyard Saloon, family-friendly gathering spots like Red Rock Junction, and fine-dining standouts such as Grappa. The town feels authentic being a genuine community rather than a purpose-built resort.
Park City is lively year-round. Summer brings lift-accessed biking, scenic hikes, golf, outdoor concerts, and cool mountain evenings. The Wasatch Mountains offer hundreds of accessible trails and viewpoints. And each January, the Sundance Film Festival fills the town with filmmakers, artists, and visitors from around the world.
Travelling from Park City down to Downtown Salt Lake City is straightforward, and Ridebooker can take care of the transfer so you don’t have to think about mountain driving, parking, or rental cars. We offer shared shuttles along with private SUVs, vans, and taxis to suit all budgets and group sizes. The drive drops out of the canyon, follows the highway across the valley, and reaches downtown in around 35–45 minutes depending on traffic and conditions.
