Ice skating and the Snow Zone
Daily | 11am – 1:30pm, 2:30pm – 5pm, 6pm – 8:30pm
Enjoy classic Canadian winter fun as you glide across the ice surrounded by sparkling trees and pristine mountain views.
Skating at the Whistler Olympic Plaza outdoor rink is absolutely free and there’s even more fun to be had at the neighbouring snow zone- a dedicated play area for tobogganning, snowmen and snowballs!
If you don’t have your own skates, no need to worry: ice skates are available to rent for $6, helmets are free and push bars available for beginners
If you have children with you then be sure to check out Family Après on Mondays and Wednesdays, 3pm – 6pm, when the Olympic plaza also hosts variety of outdoor, winter activities and entertainment.
Christmas Eve Carol Service
December 24 | 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Nothing provides that warm and fuzzy, festive feeling like carols on Christmas Eve. Join Whistler locals and visitors from around the world at the Westin Resort and Spa for this community carol service hosted by the Whistler Children’s Chorus and Whistler Singers.
Thirty-four years strong, this is Whistler’s longest-running carol service, and you’re sure to leave feeling full of cheer.
‘Thunder on Ice’ Winter Bobsleigh Experience
Daily (with reservations) from December – April
Certainly not one for the faint-hearted, Thunder on Ice offers you the chance to ride the track that hosted the bobsleigh, skeleton and luge competitions during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
You and your team will be expertly guided by a trained bobsleigh pilot, who will get you prepared for the 125+ km/h speeds and acceleration of up to 4 g forces that await as your 4-man bobsled thunders towards the final corner on the world’s fastest track!
Ziptrek Twilight Tours
Daily from November – April | Late afternoon & early evening tours available
Multi-year winner of Whistler’s ‘Best Adventure Tour’, Ziptrek is a must-do treetop adventure combining the thrill of ziplining with the opportunity to learn about the natural environment and Whistler’s old growth rainforest – in which the tour is set- along the way.
Tours are available during daylight hours and offer amazing views of the mountains and forest, but the twilight tours offer a unique winter wonderland experience. As the sun sets, the course gains a new level of magic as you zip off into the darkness surrounded by thousands of twinkling LED lights.
Scandinave Spa Whistler

After so much excitement you’d be forgiven for craving a little R & R time, and there’s no place on earth better than Whistler’s renowned Scandinavian baths to soothe those aching muscles and leave you fully relaxed.

Whistler Presents: New Year’s Eve Celebrations
December 31, 2017 | 6pm – midnight
The entire village comes alive with celebration on New Year’s Eve, with activities, live music and performances going on all evening up until the big countdown at midnight.
Families should be sure not to miss the action at the two indoor venues– featuring arts and crafts stations, glow-in-the-dark face painting, circus acts, live performances and tons more!
The grand finale will take place at the base of the mountain with a very special edition of the Fire & Ice Show, where skiers and snowboarder’s spin and flip through a blazing hoop of fire, and culminating in a dazzling midnight fireworks display to see in the new year.
